QUESTION: Dear Legal Wiz,
Same as the story, my husband and I are building a home in Jamaica we left a young man to oversee the property and keep the yard clean. We send him money every week,. We have now been told by a neighbour that he has moved a woman and her children into our house and the yard is like a bush. We have seen photos.
I have asked the water and electric company to disconnect everything as he will not leave despite many calls. He now will not take my calls.
How can we get him to leave?
Mr & Mrs H.
RESPONSE: Mr and Mrs H
The good news is you can get him to leave. The not so good news is, if you cant do it, you will need to rely on someone. The process begins with a common notice form. Either purchase one at a local bookstore or download one from this site. This site also guides you in filling the from out.
At the expiration of the notice, it is time for court action. A claim for the property will need to be done so you can get a court order. Oncesuccessful the bailiff contracted to the Court will be happy to assist.
